The Lake

She was built between the years 1935-1940 for a hydroelectric
reservoir to power the greenwood area. She is fed by two major rivers to the north (the Saluda and Reedy Rivers). The lake's dam is to the south. Lake Greenwood is approximately 22-24-miles long with numerous creeks, lake branches, State Parks, Goat Island, and Hidden Lake. She has 212-miles of shoreline and sits on 11,400 acres of land. Lake Greenwood is used for all water based recreational activities: boating, fishing, hunting, swimming, skiing, jet skis, wave runners, etc.
